Victor Gomez – painter and printmaker – is an internationally regarded and award winning artist whose work has been widely exhibited in galleries, art’s institutions and museums throughout the world. Between 1964 and 1980, the artist participated in over 80 group shows before permanently immigrating to the United States. Since 1980, his work has been shown to critical acclaim on several continents and was recently selected to be included in the permanent collections of several museums including the Housatonic Museum of Art (Connecticut), the Printmaking National Museum (Argentina) and the Tosayamada Museum of Art (Japan).
Born in Havana, Cuba in 1941, a master-printer by both passion and trade, Victor Gomez’s artwork is remarkable in its complexity and color. Collected by a significant number of corporations, museums and prívate collections, Victor Gomez’s artwork can be found in the collections of the Instituto de Cultura Puertoriquena (Puerto Rico), Osaka Prefectural Contemporary Art Center (Osaka, Japan), Tosayamada Museum of Art (Kochi, Japan), International Print Triennial Society (Cracow, Poland); Tama Art University Museum (Tokyo, Japan); Printmaking National Museum (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and the Yang Huang Art Museum (Beijing, China).
